Burlington, IA (May 31, 2013) – The Burlington Bees are happy to announce that Bark in the Park will be held on Sunday, June 9th when the Bees play a doubleheader against Beloit at 1 PM.
Bark in the Park allows fans to bring “man’s best friend” to Community Field for a great day of baseball and fun! The Des Moines County Humane Society and P.A.W.S. of Lee County will have dogs that are up for adoption as well. Allgood Animal Hospital, Horse and Hound, Pet Safe of the Tri-State, and Summer Street Animal Clinic of Burlington; Coral Reef of West Burlington; Northeast Animal Hospital of Mt. Pleasant; and Hometown Veterinary Clinic of New London will also be in attendance.
In addition, the famous “Jake the Diamond Dog” act will be at Community Field that day. The golden retriever travels to ballparks all around the country entertaining fans by serving as bat boy, taking bottled water to the umpires between innings, and doing various tricks.
All dogs that attend the game that day must be on a leash at all times. There is no admission for the dogs and water stations will be available. Please contact the Bees at (319) 754-5705 if you have any questions.
